Maison Californie is a Los Angeles-based creative practice. Working across interiors, objects, and curated art, Maison Californie draws from a cultural exchange, combining the ease and optimism of Los Angeles with the warmth, history, and character of European sensibility. The result is thoughtful but never too precious: spaces and pieces that feel collected, expressive, and made to be lived with.
Art runs three generations deep in Alex Taylor's family of artists and art dealers. From a young age he spent time working with his mother at her NYC based gallery, TAYLOR | GRAHAM, learning early on not just to appreciate art and the creative form, but to see the value in it.
His design career began with Steph Viesta of STUDIO SEVA, a mentor whose influence shaped his early approach to the work.
He then joined as the Senior Designer at OSKLO, a custom build design firm in Los Angeles with projects featured in Architectural Digest, Vogue, and Elle Decor.
After briefly working with AD100 and Elle Decor A-List Designer Oliver Furth, he went on to join M WINTER DESIGN, where he currently works alongside principal Matt Winter, specializing in hospitality design.
